18/11/2012

As part of the vision to transform the Emirate from Sheikhdom to Economic Hub, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a Ruler of Dubai and Vice-President of UAE, has recently approved the expansion project or the phase 4 of Madinat Jumeirah which will approximately cost around AED2.5 billion if once completed.

Actually, the Ruler pointed out that completing such project will also help enhance the tourism industry in Dubai as well as will continuously maintain its growing position as the so-called an 'International Tourism Hub'. For this reason, he further said that the Emirate's development of tourism infrastructure in particular will never stop; for there will be no limits at all.

Furthermore, the approval for the above-mentioned expansion project was indeed made in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, both a Dubai Crowne Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council; Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of Dubai Holding; Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in the Emirate; Ahamed Bin Byat, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding; and Gerald Lawless, an Executive Chairman of Jumeirah Group.

Based on the report, the said project will have the following properties: one luxury five-star hotel that will include a total of 420 rooms with sea views and range of some prestigious restaurants in the world; villas complex that will be managed by Jumeirah Living, a subsidiary arm of Jumeirah Group which is an international luxury hotel chain and a member of Dubai Holding Group that operates not only in the Emirate but throughout the world; restaurants; commercial centre with a number of retail stores; and a pedestrian precinct. Then, it is quite expected to be completed three years from now.

As a matter of fact, the aforementioned Group has been operating a number of world-class hotels and resorts so far. They are as follows: Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi; Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, and Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai; Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vittaveli in the Maldives; Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel in Shanghai; Jumeirah Frankfurt in Germany; Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto in Rome; Jumeirah Port Soller Resort & Spa in Mallorca; Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah in Istanbul; Jumeirah Carlton Tower and Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel in London.
