04/12/2012

As hospitality industry has been one of the first sectors in Dubai that has immediately recovered regardless of the negative impacts of economic crisis, there have been a number of hotel management companies that launched their hotel portfolio accordingly or which are about to open their new hotel projects in the Emirate, including the Sofitel, a luxury hotel chain being managed by a French Hotel Group, Accor.

Based on the report, the group has a new plan to expand its portfolio in Dubai by opening another two hotels which will be under its above-mentioned luxury branded-hotel.  So far, the first hotel has been already confirmed that it would be located on the East Crescent of the artificial or man-made islands in the Emirate, Palm Jumeirah. It is the Sofitel The Palm that will feature the following amenities and facilities: 361 contemporary guestrooms and suites; spa with 28 treatment rooms; 4 meeting rooms; 600-person ballroom; and 10 F&B outlets.

In addition, the second hotel will be located in Downtown Dubai in which the stunning and tallest tower in the world, Burj Khalifa, is also located as well as opposite to the company’s branded-hotel. In the first place, the project is not yet confirmed at all but it will have a total of 350 rooms & suites, five restaurants, and four lounges.

As a General Manager of Hotel and Vice-President of the Group for the Middle East, Africa, and Indian Ocean, Sami Nasser said that he is now so confident because of the current potentials of Dubai’s Property Market in particular. As a matter of fact, it is also planning to open another hotel property in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which will be part of partnership between the Kingdom Abdullah Foundation and Sofitel.
