Dubai plans to build another biggest Shopping Mall in the world

25/11/2012

As Ruler of Dubai with an admiring vision to prove the Emirate as an Economic Hub for trading, tourism, and real estate market, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has recently announced his new plans such as to build another Shopping Mall which will be the biggest mall in the world and build more than 100 new hotel properties as well. Then, based on the report, it will be developed through a joint venture between the two prestigious or well-known property developers in Dubai. They are as follows: Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding.

As a matter of fact, the said project is going to represent or revive the so-called Mohammed Bin Rashid Gardens project which was unveiled in 2008, a year before the global economic crisis began to break down the Emirate's economy in particular; and it will be located between the prestigious Sheikh Zayed Road, Emirates Road, and Al Khail Road.

If once the construction is started, the project would be at least 30 per cent larger than the Hyde Park in London as well as there would be the biggest mall in the world that would be bigger than the currently-biggest mall which is the Dubai Mall, a shopping centre located in Downtown Dubai and connected to the world's tallest tower, Burj Khalifa. So, the new proposed mall will be called as the 'Mall of the World' that will have a total capacity of 80 million visitors per annum and hundreds of new hotels.

Moreover, the above-mentioned MBR City is about to be linked with the Emirate's 'City within a City' or Business Bay and Downtown Dubai. It will also be divided into four components such as park, hotels, and Universal Studios which will exclusively a unique area that will provide an integrated environment for both entrepreneurship and innovation in the Middle East region.

According to the Ruler, he said that the government's initiatives with regards to infrastructure in all sectors should be primarily in accordance with the growth rate because of the fact that the latter has a great determination to reach its objectives as well as its mission to be the first city in the region to achieve them.

Now, as Head of Research at Jones Lang LaSalle, an International Property Services Company, Craig Plumb said that such new plan has indeed a possibility to be put into reality due to the Emirate's currently-improved tourist infrastructure if compared to original plan in 2008. Then, he added that in order for such plan to be in reality, the concerned developers should do some efforts to attract more people to be interested in the above-mentioned new plans. For this reason, a number of hotels will be needed accordingly.
