10/10/2012

As well-known as the largest private real estate developer in Dubai, DAMAC Properties is not planning to launch any new property projects within this year 2012; but rather it will only focus on completing the construction of its on-going projects as well as delivering units to investors instead.

Based on the report, the company was just concentrating on its new projects in the following countries: Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

According to Niall McLoughlin, Senior Vice President of DAMAC, he pointed out that the company is now taking a strategy which is the so-called 'country-specific strategic approach' to its respective property portfolio located not only in the Emirate but throughout the Middle East region. In particular, the company is currently focusing on the construction and delivery of its projects in the UAE; but not planning to launch any new projects in the near term.

As a matter of fact, in the wake of economic downturn, he added that the company's primary focus has been both construction and delivery; for it has kept its promises to investors that it will continue delivering a quality and standard of development in Dubai particularly.

So far, DAMAC has already completed a total of 36 property projects comprising of 7, 364 apartments. In fact, 30 of them have been completed since the economic crisis stepped in mid-2008. Then, it has another 50 buildings consisting of 9, 849 units which are still under construction until now. All of them are indeed located across the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) region.
