Business Bay and Downtown Dubai planned to be interlinked

14/10/2012

Before this year 2012 ends, there would be a number of new initiatives to be done by the government, including the latest plan to connect the two master community developments in Dubai: Business Bay and Downtown Dubai; for they are now reportedly being interlinked.

Based on the report, the two districts will be linked either by a road or tunnel because of the main reason to reduce the traveling time in the Emirate as well as provide an easy accessibility to all residents in particular.

As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dubai Properties Group (DPG), a company that specializes in high quality properties for rent or purchase in different well-established locations in the Emirate, Khalid Al Malik said that the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is currently working to connect the two above-mentioned districts together by roads and tunnels, which is expected to be completed within this year 2012 itself. In other words, the developers will be the one to take care of their respective infrastructure development; while the authorities will take charge of the infrastructure components that belong to them.

Then, he added that there will be cooperation with RTA which will be responsible for making bridges and roads; while Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will be authorized to build at least two new substations in Business Bay, in which the Empower will also develop the second cooling station.

So far, DPG has recently confirmed that the following facilities had been already installed throughout the Business Bay Development which is being called as a 'City within a City': a sewerage system, portable water system, new irrigation system, street lighting, and traffic lights.
