Hotel Occupancy Rates in Dubai increase around 89.6 per cent

10/03/2013

According to the latest report with regards to Hotel Occupancy Rates in Dubai that was released by TRI Hospitality Consulting, an independent and international consultancy firm that provides both Market and Financial Feasibility Studies for those new hotels and property development projects, they increased impressively around 89.6 per cent from the 3rd day of January until the same day of February 2013; for there were approximately around 4.7 million expatriates who came in Dubai because of 18th Dubai Shopping Festival in particular.

Moreover, it was about 4.2 per cent increase in demand for accommodation when compared to corresponding month in 2012; and around 5 per cent growth to $359.39 for the Average Room Rate as well as 10.2 per cent to $321.85 for Revenue per Available Room.

As Managing Director of TRI Hospitality Consulting, Peter Goddard emphasized the reasons behind such positive results. He said that the DSF is indeed an important event both for local hoteliers and landlords particularly; for it is a mega event that offers a perfect start to the current year for the tourism establishments in the Emirate and helps bridge the gap between the end of the year’s holidays and European Winter breaks. So, for this reason, a lot of companies have been encouraged to build new complexes in Dubai eventually.

One of them is quite the Landmark Hotels & Suites, a company that has recently unveiled its plans to put up at least three resorts in the Emirate within this year 2013 as well as a plan to expand its portfolio into different locations including Fujairah and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). In fact, LHS has been already operating a total of 8 hotel properties so far. Six of them are located in the UAE. According to the company’s CEO, he wished that there would be at least another two or three hotel properties to be opened before the year ends.
