Dubai Municipality permits a total of 23, 243 buildings in 2012

A number of positive signs were shown in Dubai’s market since 2012, including the availability of some financial institutions, increasing demand for properties, and revival of construction industry. As a matter of fact, according to Building Department of Dubai Municipality, it has reported that there were a total of 23, 243 buildings which were given legal permissions to be constructed in the City.
According to Yusuf Abdullah, Acting Director of Buildings Department, he unveiled the annual report with regards to the fact that the civic body in particular has also updated the registration of some consulting and contracting companies as per the record of the Economic Department. So far, there have been a total of 632 newly-registered consulting offices and around 5, 635 contracting companies.
Moreover, the following total construction permissions are as follows: 12, 952 private villas; 1, 366 commercial villas; 2, 182 industrial buildings; 2, 227 facilities; 3, 339 multistory buildings; and 1, 117 floor additions. Then, regarding with licensed transactions, there were at least 14, 376; while a total of 11, 723 for buildings which are still under construction until now.
In addition, the department also issued a total of 2, 421 completion certificates for those implemented property projects. However, the number of applications to change the consultants and contractors reached to 1, 664; while the disputes reached a total of 287. Lastly, the said department inspected a total of 98, 891 sites in different areas of the Emirate in particular.
So, Yusuf Abdulah further said that such performance is just a reflection of the Emirate’s surviving economy. Then, in general, the civic body is now undertaking all the procedures and inspections in order to confirm the safety of buildings in Dubai and protect the lives of individuals living in the latter as well.
